People Ask Questions

Hello. This is Mavis Baritone. Before we got INVENTURN to manage our ON-LINE business, we first talked to a website consultant guy from Nashville. Anyway, I don't have to tell you how these consultants think they can sit for TWO hours in YOUR club, drink YOUR beer, eat YOUR sandwiches, pump YOU for information, and then think YOU’RE gonna pay THEM. Me and Floyd had a very frank conversation with him, if you know what I mean. Anyway, this consultant guy says we should make a list of questions that people might ask. That way, if you got a question that is already here, you'll know the answer. Makes sense.

We ask that you not bother our Mom with one of these questions. Just ask our Mom new questions. And don’t be a wise guy, or nothing. You're talking to our mother.

How long have you been in the business?
As we have said before, we have no recollection of that. It's all just talk. That's just stuff you see in the movies. Some, of which, are better than others.
How long have you been in business?
Even as kids, we were always looking for ways to turn a dime. When you grow up in our neighborhood, you gotta do two things. You gotta look out for each other and you gotta look for a good thing. So business is just natural for us. You could say we've been in business for over 50 years. We usually do business face to face. Computers is new for us. But things change, you know? Hey, what are ya gonna do?
Who made your eBay auctions?
A kid at this company in Memphis called " INVENTURN ". He's a funny kid--calls his company Online Dating for Your Inventory. But he's smart too. He came up with our name too. All the guys at the club got a charge outta the "fell off a truck" part because, you know, that’s what guys used to say. All in all, he did a good job. Especially since he was doing it because of his uncle owing us a favor. But I digress.
Why does my PAY-PAL go to " INVENTURN " ?
The kid at inventurn is pretty smart. He wrote the auctions and he also handles all of the money. That way, it goes to him. He settles up with us. It's a good arrangement. Sort of like all of our businesses. You have to delegate.
Who handles your shipping?
We got a guy who takes care of that for us in Memphis. All of the goods ship from there. He's not a drop shipper or anything like that, he's one of our guys. He'll get the goods out the same day--within 2 business days tops. He's got FedEx Ground trucks coming in and the US Post Office. (Good to have those guys trucks running for us now.)We ship to the US.
What should I do if there is a problem with my order?
Be sure to let us know if our guy makes some kinda screw up or something. Believe me, he doesn't want you to let us know there's a problem. Still, sometimes things happen at FedEx or something. If there is any problem, you let us know and we'll make sure that everything gets straightened out. We have a reputation to maintain.
I live in Memphis. Can I pick up my item?
Due to some issues that I can't go into, no pickups or "will calls" are allowed, unless the auction clearly states otherwise. It wouldn't be good if certain people saw a lot of traffic going in and out of this place, if you understand.
Do you ship to other countries?
Not specifically. You will have to get approval, so just email and ask. We've had people from Canada expecting that we could ship things within 2 days, for no additional cost, duty free, and then they wanted to return it. Some people. So if you want us to ship outside of the US, you're going to have to pick up the phone so we can come to an understanding. Send my mom an Email (through eBay) and ask.
Where do you get your merchandise?
Most of the auctions are supposed to say where things come from. But as to the "go here and this is available for x-dollars" what kind of a moron would tell you that? Let's just say, we found some really good deals in Memphis. Two things Memphis has got. They got the home of Elvis Presley, which is Graceland. It looks a lot like the house I built for my Mom back in Jersey. Well, only on the inside. My Mom's house is a lot bigger, let me tell you. But the other thing they got is trucks. Lot of trucks in Memphis. It's like Jersey in that way. So, anyway, goods just fall in our laps, if you know what I mean.
Is this stuff legitimate?
I do not appreciate the tone of your question. All this stuff is good. The real thing, too, no fakes. We just got it at a good price point, let's say. It's an offer you can't refuse.
How do you like Memphis?
It's not New Jersey, OK? But we like it here. People talk funny. But people are people. People have the same needs no matter where you go. We got Atlantic City, they got Tunica. Although, technically, I've never visited Tunica because that's outside of the state of Tennessee, if you know what I mean.
Can I speak to you directly?
Sure. But, the people at eBay want to keep everything on the up and up. They don't want me to list my address, or cell number, or E-mail address, or web site address, or blog address in the auction. None of that. Still you can E-mail my Mom. She will call us with your information. We will get back to you during office hours.
